For many organisations that were early adopters of electric vehicles, the time is coming when older first generation EV chargers need replacing.
Typical of the situation is this recent example from Sport Wales in Cardiff. Their organisation uses fully electric cars as pool vehicles for staff, and their old chargers at their Cardiff base were no longer fit for purpose. Out of warranty and therefore lacking manufacturer support, they were behaving erratically and sometimes simply not charging a vehicle when required – hardly ideal when staff had destinations to get to.

As local EV charging experts, The Full EV asked a few key questions before recommending the right solution. With a pool fleet now of three cars, there was a desire to add a third charger – though power in this area of the property was limited. And management wanted a way to monitor and record charging sessions, and limit access to the pool vehicles only.
The solution? Three new chargers, from a brand that can power share the limited supply. The Easee units come with a subscription-free, cloud based dashboard, which records charging sessions. And RFID tags, small enough to go on each vehicle key ring, act as controllers of charging sessions, allowing each vehicle’s consumption to be recorded. And, of course, the new units come with a long, manufacturer-backed guarantee.
