The Tilman Hotel
Client Overview
The Tilman is a boutique hotel in the traditional mid-Wales seaside town of Barmouth. Set beside a river estuary, and the Irish Sea, the town has a sleepy seaside feel that takes visitors back in time. In contrast, the Tilman, operated by a local family, offers a modern boutique hotel experience for its guests.
Summary
The Full EV executed an installation of fully managed electric vehicle chargers in the hotel’s dedicated car park. At the installation date, the hotel had little in the way of EV charging infrastructure, making The Tilman the only place to stay for discerning EV drivers.

Objectives
- The Tilman wanted to offer guests an overnight charging solution
- With this in mind, a recent upgrade to the car park, located across the street, had included installation of a new power supply
- Management wanted to have a fully managed solution, so that staff did not have additional administrative tasks to handle
Installation
- Six overnight chargers were installed in the car park, mounted in pairs on stainless steel posts, a finish selected to best cope with the seaside location.
- A fully managed software platform was installed, handling charging rates, and managing user payments.
Easy to use
- Customers simply scan a QR code on the chargers to set up an account, enter their debit card deatils and begin charging.
- A 24/7 support line is provided, should users have any issues starting a charge
- The hotel’s management needs to do nothing from week to week: A monthly report is provided, detailing energy sold, revenue earned and profit made
Leveraging the investment
The Full EV supported The Tilman in promoting its charging facilities, across its website, social media and on major EV charger location apps.
Platforms such as Booking.com now allow potential guests to filter hotels for support services including EV charging presenting a marketing opportunity to reach EV drivers, currently an upscale demographic
The chargers are delivering a regular, and growing, revenue stream for The Tilman.
